Christmas Spice Pine Cone Firestarter's
Nature’s kindling, made by hand
There’s something about lighting the first fire of winter. The crackle, the glow, everyone drifting into the room. Our pine cone firestarters make that moment a little easier, and a lot prettier.
These little firestarters began a few years ago as a way to use up the wax and wicks left over from our candle making. We hate to see anything go to waste, so we started pouring the extra into pine cones gathered for the season. What started as a thrifty habit quickly became a customer favourite, and now they’re a firm part of our Christmas collection.
Each one is made by hand in our Cookstown studio. We take a real pine cone, nestle it into a paper case with a wick, and pour natural wax around it. Then we finish it with whatever seasonal botanicals we have at hand including little bits of dried orange, red berries, dried apple and sprigs of fresh spruce. They look almost too good to burn, which is why so many people leave a few in a bowl by the hearth all season long.
Every firestarter is scented with our Christmas Spice fragrance, so as the wax warms, a soft festive scent drifts into the room. It’s a gentle touch rather than a strong one, just enough to make lighting the fire feel like the start of something special.
When you’re ready, simply tuck one beneath your kindling and light the wick. The wax-coated cone burns slowly and steadily, giving your fire time to catch without fuss, firelighter fumes or paraffin smell.
Perfect for:
- Open fires, wood-burning stoves, fire pits and chimineas
- Cosy nights in, Christmas Eve, and bonfire-season gatherings
- Stocking fillers, hostess gifts and thoughtful little thank-yous
- Anyone who loves a real fire (and anyone who struggles to light one)
What’s inside: Natural pine cones, soy wax scented with our Christmas Spice fragrance, wick, paper cases, dried botanicals
Pack size: 4 firestarter's
Safety: These are firestarters, not decorations to light on their own. Use only inside a fireplace, stove, fire pit or chiminea. Never leave a fire unattended. Because they look rather like little festive treats, please keep them out of reach of children and pets, and they are not edible.
