A small flame flickering under a dish of melting wax does a lot to slow an evening down. The Sunu burner is made for those evenings.
Each one is shaped by hand on the potter's wheel from local Nepalese clays, then glazed and fired at a high temperature. That means no two are quite the same, and the small differences in glaze and form are part of its character. It has a curved, minimal shape that works on a bedside table, a bathroom shelf or a kitchen windowsill. They each have a beautiful contemporary feel and the colours are subtle and unique.
The top dish lifts off, so it's easy to clean between scents. You can go from Cosy Nights to Lime Basil and Mandarin without the two mingling.
Each burner is made by artisans in a fair trade collective in Kathmandu and brought to the UK by Aura Que, a UK-based ethical brand supporting fair trade businesses in Nepal, Vietnam and India. This is a piece you can feel good about bringing into your home or giving as a gift. Pair it with our soy wax melts for a clean, gentle scent throw.
Colours
The Cream Sand glaze is soft and warm, somewhere between oatmeal and driftwood, with a natural speckle that makes each piece a little different. It's a gentle neutral that sits easily in any room, from a white-washed bathroom to a cosy reading corner.
Named after the spice, the Green Cardamom glaze is a muted sage green with a soft speckle and a velvety matte finish. It's calm and earthy, and it looks especially lovely beside houseplants or on a kitchen windowsill.
The Yellow Ginger glaze is a warm, spiced yellow that brings a little sunshine to a shelf, or a kitchen table. It's cheerful without being loud, and it glows beautifully once the tealight is lit.
